I disagree with the death penalty for 2 reasons.
1. How can we punish someone buy doing exactly what he did to get in trouble? We cant kill someone because they killed someone else.
2. Many people dont fear death, Im sure you get scared as fuck right before your going to die, but the fact is most people sentenced to death dont ever get the needle, and its very little emotional pain. I think a better punishment is solitary confinment, have a person spend a few weeks in an empty room w/o so much as seeing a single person, even when they bring him his food, that can do so much more to someone then knowing that there going to die. Ive seen documentarys on that, and the people break down, start crying, have horrible fears its truely much much worse.

we had this debate a long while back...and it was pretty good...
since then my views on the death penalty have been shaky...I used to say i liked it but NOW i dont think it is a strong enough punishment..
i will explain why, but FIRT i want to say that any extreme crime towards a child deserves the strictest form of punishment possible..because any individual who would rape or murder a child is a very large threat to our society..they are the lowest of the low...
OK but i am ONLY talking about people who have been convicted of crimes who have been prooved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt with compelling evidence, in some most cases with DNA evidence being presented...so i am talking about the ones who are in fact guilty..and ALL the proof is there...this will clear up anyone saying that down the line you can find that person to be innocent of the crime...ok now that we got that straight i will explain.
OK...if you give a convicted criminal, who raped or murdered a child, the death penalty it seems like an easy sentence to you and I...and that they will die 1,2,3 painless...but after seeing a special video on the death penalty (sorta like Faces of Death--if u saw that u know the type of video i am talking about--VERY SCAREY shit).......anyway....they documneted the last week of 4 different men on death row....and they where confined for there last week on suicide watch and had no contact with anyone but guards..
NOW...as i was watching i thinking these demeanted criminals are getting off easy going to be killed by lethal injection...big deal they go to sleep and die painlessly.....BUT.....the final day came for each criminal....and as i watched my stomach turned....i NOW can understand why the death penalty is "in a way" a good punishment...this is why.
The last day comes and all the witnesses, family members of the victom, and family emmbers of the criminal come to watch the guy die...then they show the criminal in his cell and the REALITY hits him that he is in fact going to die...it's not like your in a hospital where if u get injured or are sick and "chances" are you will die, because in those circumstances you still have hope you will be saved......BUT with the criminal he is standing up now walking out of his cell with 4 guards and a priest knowing he will die in 15 minutes surrounded by atleast 20 to 30 full grown healthy adults who can stop his own death...but in fact will not.....so he begins his journey down a short hallway...and with each step the fear in his eyes begins to grow...and his steps appear to be getting heavier...and his thoughts begin to ramble....at this point that reality has come true...
He walks through the death chamber doors, which are huge steal 4 inch thick doors, and enters a room shaped as a circle with a nothing but 2 windows ( 1 for the execusionar and 1 for the people to view) and a operating table in the middle of the room.....NOW...he his told to lie down for his last time in his life....and that reality grows so strong you can smell his fear....so he lies down and they strap his arms, chest, forehead, thighs, waist and ankles to this table with his arms starpped out in a cross position.....they then attach a 1 IV to his right arm (funny part is they rubbed his arm with alcohol first...like he might get an infection...LOL)....anyway he his now all hooked up...and they ask him if he wishes to say any words....3 out of the 4 men did...basically apologies and sobs and begging..
So now after he opts to say his few words they waited 2 minutes then injected the lethal injection and he slowley drifted away...not much to it...seemed kinda simple......no pain...nothing...like he went to sleep...and the video showed all 4 deaths and the aftermath when he was dead....
NOW...i agree that is an easy way to die....but the thing with it is this for me.....that last day in your cell KNOWING your going to die...then that last walk...KNowING your going to die...and noone will help you or stop it....thats its your dieing.....because in ALL actuality the scariest part of death is the anticipation of death...knowing your going to die for a fact in 1 hour will be the most horrifying experience i think you can face...knowing that noone can do anything about it...and that people who have the capability to stop it actually wlak you to your death and strap you down to your death...thats scary.....
But when it coems to children killers and rapists...i dont feel that just the anticipation of death and fear is enough...i am very STRICT when it comes to those crimes...i just wanted to make a point above that the detah peanlty with lethal injection may be easy...but that last day and that last walk are pretty scarey shit...but not to us because we will more then likely never have to wlak it...but for a moment get up and walk from down your hallway to a door...and as you walk think in your mind that you will be walking for your last time, having your last thoughts etc..and that you will die in that room at the end of your hallway...it is scarey.
Now....bare in mind i find these acts of crime to be the worst possible....how someone can look into the innocents of a child's eyes and then brutalley butcher and rape them is beyond me....pure evil.
SO this is in all actuality what i feel should be done with them...you take these sick sick people who are convicted of the crimes and let the father of the child who died take care of them.
Put the criminal in a room and let "Mr Jones" (Mr Jones will be the fathe rof the child who got raped and killed)...now you tell Mr Jones he can doo all he wishes to this individual...but he CAN NOT kill him.
So Mr Jones can beat the criminal to the verge of death with bats, knives, bricks, stones etc any thing he chooses..he can even stick full soda cans up the criminals ass....but the moment the criminla seems like he will die u have Mr Jones stop...then you take the criminal to a ward and nurse him back to health...it may take months of recoverey for the criminal to get better...but so be it....then when the criminal is all better and has healed from the puonding delivered by Mr Jones...you put him back in that same room and invite Mr Jones to come beat him over again...and you continue this process for say 2 years...and as you go through the 2 years you continue to tell the criminal that if he goes through 2 years of beatings by the childs father, Mr Jones, then the criminal will be set free from jail...
So the whole time the criminal will be thinking to himself that if he can handle the 2 years of beatings, he will be free...so he does the 2 years and that last day comes and he is going to be set free...you just tell him that he has 1 last visiter...so he wlaks into a room in the prison and meets a women...he says he doesnt know this women...and is confused...then the women walks up to the shackled criminal on his last day of his sentence and whispers in his ear " yes you do know me"...the criminal says "i do?"..and the women then says "yes...i am Mrs. Jones..the mother of your victom"...then the criminal says sorry and balh blah blah...then Mrs Jones pulls put a baseball bat that has rusted nails hammered into it..she then begins to beat the criminals groin with the bat until his testicles fall out...at that point Mr Jones walks in and slowley cuts off each limb from the criminal while he is still awake...then when hes just a head and torso they tell the criminal sorry your not going free...and throw his armless and legless bleeding body into a whirlpool filled with rubbing alcohol and watch as the alcohol burns his bleeding wounds and watch as he bobs and gasps for air fighting the waves in the whirlpool...only to drown....
NOW THATS A FITTING PUNISHEMENT FOR THESE SICK BASTARDS,...lol
but since we live in a society where we are all basically civil...something like that can only be a dream for the victoms family members...
Inorder for there to be a death penalty, they have to keep it "some what" humane for the pacifists, liberals and religous nuts....but i dont know the best way..but i do know that child killers and rpaists DO NOT desreve to walk on this planet....they knowingley gave up their right to live amongst the rest fo us.
Now i have always said that we shoudl take all criminals on death row and after they have exhausted all their appeals and it is a FACT that they commited the crime that drove them to death row...that we should inject them with AIDS and Cancer and all the other terribel diseases that take so many lives....then after you give these criminals the diseases you work on cures on HUMANS..not animals..since human studies are most beneficial...you test new medicines to get them approved by the FDA, you test new procedures etc....and maybe we can find cures for all these diseases....and not for nothing but it would also help out the criminals since they will be giving back to a society that they took so much from....and if the criminal is religous then maybe God will see that he gave his body to be tested for cures to help others...and will see he rteyd to redeem himself...
Shit if they fidn a cure..let them go...thats the way out of jail...LOL.....
BUT SERIOUSLY think about that....wouldnt it be so beneficial to give them the diseases?...we woudl open a whole new world of possiblities...and i know people are going to say what give us the right to do such a thing...well we gett he right from the fact that they took from our society inwhich the majority have decided to live by the rules...u break a rule u pay...Bible even says "eye for an eye"..
i dont know i always liked my diseases theory...imagine the possiblities.... |
DAMN! Now THAT was a speech! Good work! Here's anotehr idea for the AIDS, etc. thought: After giving the person on Death Row AIDS, since AIDS can take YEARS to kill you, why not find a way to accelerate the virus so that the "victim" gets into the "suffering stage" after say, 6 MONTHS? Then, SLOW the virus down so, scientists have time to conduct experients on this criminal, WHILE HE SUFFERS WITH THE VIRUS!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, that we discussed what to do with the WORST criminals, what about what SOME people call the "BEST" criminals: Thives/Bank Robbers? If someone steals from a store or a bank A LOT OF MONEY or goods/automobiles that are worth TONS OF MONEY, LIKE ABOVE 25000 USD, MORE THAN ONCE, what's the BEST punishment to give him/her? Before you say something about "he/she doesn't have the object he stole" or "there's not enough evidence" I want to CLEARLY iindicate that what if there IS PROOF that he stole this valueble item? What if there's audio (he said that he stole it to his friend and it was recorded by investigator), video (store camera shows him CLEARLY with the item and shows him without it after going to the restroom, etc.), fingerprint, DNA, indicate that he/she really DID this.
Now, don't say something careless like "cut off his/her hands". Also, no answers like "he would get caught by store BEFORE LEAVING" because I'm assuming that he didn't get caught then and got caught LATER, when he went there again or by police.
The current US sentences for stealing is too harsh (20+ years in prison) and they don't do a THING for the thief that would steal the DAY he got out. So, what would YOU think is the BEST way to deal with someone like this? (Remember: Think this out LOGICALLY: He stole something of HIGH (ABOVE 25000 USD) value TWICE and if he goes to prison, when he gets out, he'll do it again.)
