I have talk to some other locals her and they say that trance is going to explode across the midwest in a few years judging by all the events and djs. I reallly dont know about things over in Europe and other parts of the world, but i dont think trance is going anywhere soon. but that is just my openion on the matter. What are your openions??

u arnt friends with nooklear by any small minute out of this world possiblity?

Great point!!

There is more and more people joining this site all the time than there is leaving. We make trance because we buy it, watch Dj's play it etc etc, so it's the likes of us which keep it going.

I was watching BPM TV afew days ago, they interviewed System F and he said trance was fading too, because "people were getting tired of waiting for the song to get going" and now they're starting to program the songs so theres no waiting, GateCrasher Gods Kitchen, etc.

When i heard this i felt kinda depressed, i just got into trance, about 3-4 years go, and its getting better and better. And i hope trance will explode in the the next few years here. Especially were i live......it has too, its the future.

But im getting more and more of friends to listen to trance, and i've been successful but then theres people who are assholes and dont even give it a chance....idoits, dont know what they're missing out on.

Nah Beachball Boy. You just live in the US where trance is not as popular. (No offence, but it's the truth) And for people that believe trance is 'fading' obiously don't care for it. It's like rock and roll...it's been around for quite some time and it's sticking. As long as they don't start playing underground stuff on the radio in North America, I'll be happy.

in some places its growing, others it's at its peak. who knows what the future will bring, but if trance dies then I won't commit suicide or any shit like that, I'll just move on...afterall, there ARE other things in life besides trance

but it still is fuckin good

I wouldn't worry - it won't die. It might evolve a bit but will unlikely die. Look at happy hardcore - everyone thought it was dead as a doornail and now look - almost every chartworthy rave song from the mid 90's is showing up in some new incarnation. I do agree that right now progressive trance has taken a downward turn... I remember a couple of years ago everyone saying that progressive was the future. Now hard trance seems to be dominant. It's a big circle of life, it all keeps coming round again at some point.

As far as trance in America... forget about it. I live in the midwest and trust me, it won't happen. It's getting hard to find clubs that play electronic music in general let alone trance, everyone's switching to hip-hop cause that what the young kiddies like. Plus, stuff like System F and Rank 1 would never go far in the mainstream here - Americans are obsessed with vocals, play an instrumental track and most people get bored. The only way trance would go mainstream in the states is if they can get Eminem to rap on top of it... unfortunately that would be like blasphemy for the trance community. I know i'd be cringing

Yeah when i tell people i listen to trance, some of them think its like gino beats/dance/euro dance lol!. And some are like "its annoying, and theres no words", even though they've never heard any good trance.

Like im not trying to make people love it or anything, just to be open minded and give it a chance, some do, some dont, i wish more would.

I was talking to some guy once and he was saying trance is all made up of just noises like beep beep beep beep and that he could listen to a car horn beeping and it would be trance. So I said listen to something like Project Medusa Vs Exor - Moonshine (Exor Mix Part 2) and he said nah, he would rather stick to Ja Rule and "Puff Daddy" . I said "You obiously don't know what real trance is like just that Darude stuff that does DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DA. I just wanted to hit that moron.

I honestly don't care if it fades/explodes in the US... I'm going to listen to it regardless. Somewhere, there will still be someone producing it, and I'll find some way to get to it.

If it gains more acceptance in the US, great, but I'm not going to stop listening regardless of what happens.

Besides, my taste in music changes more often than fads. Hell, there was once a time (a short one, but it still existed) where I listened to country music... *takes a break to allow for extended laughter*
