programmable LED stages are way better

Like Insomniac with their big screen that shows visuals all night, just like the visuals they showed in the 90's but controllable?

It seems so half assed to me! No lasers (or one), no programmed lights other than some strobes, and one big screen... NOTHING NEW!

You can't tell me that this:

Is cooler than this:

Yes, lasers are so 90's rave, but they are awesome, and add a lot to a cool stage design!
I feel like a screen is just so lazy!
"Ya, just hang the screen there, and the CDJs there, and the stage is designed!"

Those laser are highly illegal to have in the usa. There's major restrictions when it comes to laser in the states. You can't have any laser point down to the crowd at all in the states. After 2001 you really started to see this in effect.

And thus, productions in the USA will never match Europe, unless countries in Europe and around the world start having the same restrictions. So people should stop comparing because USA has def improved, but so has Europe and it's still a big difference when someone goes all out. Everyone seems to compare USA today to Europe 5-10 years ago. Hell, I'll take a Sensation 2000 production here in the states.

BTW, production costs in general in the USA are far more expensive than over there because of how much of it is controlled by Unions here. That's also a big issue.

You can have lasers point outward rather than down and just layer them. You can also have stage design. You can also cut back on LCDs everywhere and have more though behind it. There is a lot to be done.
