There's another popular 90s track that I've got stuck in my head now, but I can't put my finger on the name. Will have to check my 90s cheese compilations later!

Maybe this. This came up first with me, 1993 and made with a Korg M1:

Not to confuse with the very similar:

I still have the maxi of Livin' Joy - Dreamer somewhere.

By the way, I also loved the organs in these up tempo dance floor bombs of years ago:

Noobs. From 1992:

Personally I can't see why is everybody so excited about this sound. Most of music that features it is safe, predictable and stiff, and this organ-like sound accentuates these negative characteristics even more. Dull dad/suit house music. And to be clear, I'm speaking strictly within house music niche here.

I would say what you call negative, predictable and stiff is what makes those tracks attractive. Never gave me that negative feeling.

(edit: wrong Jaydee track posted) I like the piano with organ in above Jaydee track, and even don't mind the french vocals.

some cool tunes posted in here, and yeah its just one of those things, of course its simple and predictable in some cases, but i guess thats why some of us are drawn to it. Dont need to always layer 15 synths to have a banging tune.

Indeed, best example for that in my view still is this one (doesn't have a organ in it though, but is old, simple and still banging. Heard it for years as closing track in a club and blew of the roof every time with that awesome bass and simple melody. Surprisingly cool when played at a big sound system

Maya Jane Coles did it in 010 , and now this guy.

If you're talking about the oldschool synth stab in that track, you can sling that sucker as far back as '86:

I can't see how you presumed that he's talking about those synth stabs, especially since almost every post makes reference to organ-like sounds. And I really can't see how would anyone be excited with those stabs.

He's talking about Korg M1 synth sound, often used in deep/tech house aka boring house music to emphasise basslines. That synth has been around since the end of 80s, and it was a staple in an early 90s process of sophisticating house music, process that had an aim to inhibit its wild side. People like Marc Kinchen have been implementing it almost since the day one (HERE is a track from '89 that uses it somehow differently), though I still think the track from '92 I posted earlier is the first one that uses it in a "modern way".

Pulling this from the UK garage thread. Contains said sound in it, although I think it's done rather tastefully in its two-step way.
