You know this is not my typical cup of tea but as I mention before I always can appreciate any good quality music (including Industrial-Techno-Trance).

For my taste this vocal coming in at 1:14 could sound a bit more robotic/industrial (you could even run it through vocoder to morph it a bit more).

Break, hmmmm, I'm not sure if feats this overall Techno concept/idea but sounded really nice by it self

I think you find yourself a great genre to shine in Richard and if you really after hybrids of Techno-Idustrial-Trance-House than you have to find some cleaver and sophisticate way of blending/morphing between them.

I really think that your star is starting to shine and your time is slowly coming my friend.

Cheers,

Darek

Dont think your break down suits the song.
Bass is really weak and messy sounding, i think i can hear what your trying to do thou.

I enjoy the little percs your production have, do you make these yourself?

This is pretty good and would easily fit into the club scene around my area. Very interesting and quite different. The kick is awshum.

The middle trance part was a little weird, but why not. Was cool anyway!

+1

Your percussion work is really good. Good work with the kick. The overall mix sounds good, but a bit wide for my taste. The part I liked most was the break one with those acid bass stabs and atmosphere going on, but I agree it sounds completely out of context. I would work that idea as a separate track.

Yea I make all my own percs. I generally start with a sample and meld it into shape. Other times I'll record shit like banging a cucumber - yea seriously! I also use the DCAM synth Squad synth called Cypher and piss about until I come up with an intersting perc sound, add fx and then turn that into a sample.

Occasionally I use loops but they hardly ever work for some reason. I can't tell you how much I love percs, as good as sex tbh!

I like to keep mny body moving when I'm making beats, tends to stop my foot and leg cramps comming on (I love sport and martial arts but get loads of cramps), plus the amount I'm compelled to move tends to be governed by how well the beat is working.

I wanted an odd occasional bass, nothing too prominent and obvious. But as ever I take feedback seriously and comments like your are a wake up check for me to go re - visit things I might have missed.

Seems the break will have to go. I'll try for something much grimier. This genre bending isn't paying dividends.

JAYKAY - really appreciate the comments there. I'm conflicted as I love making techno and percs above all else, but somehow I feel like it's being lazy as it's not as complex as trance or complextro etc.

MISE - I hear ya, not sure I'd turn that break into another track, I know I'd get bored, it's just too happy and fluffy, I quite like making misery these days.

007 - it's nice to get feedback even though I know this teccy stuff does not really float your boat, your comments are much appreciated.

TERHAN appreciate the feedback. Glad u feel the kick. Really it's the first time I made a drum buss with some dynamics fx applied as I kept feeling I wasn't getting the impact I've been after.

So I'll go hivernate and turn this into something better, with amore fitting break, get it all stitched better to avoid those sudden off putting parts, maybe more vox, perhaps a more discernable bass element - although I need to be careful to then not swamp out the drums. Also some of the crashes are gay, so I re - do em.

I like the complexity of the percussion work in the intro section - the kick is good too

strange sound at 2:16 - so out of place i had to check i didn't accidentally have another track playing in the background

the track has nice bits, but the structure is strange, things start when they shouldn't and don't stop when you expect them to - it's a hard one to fix, but you know when you've got the arrangement right when your listener anticipates slightly what is going to happen next

good percs throughout

i don't mind the vocal sample.

hope this helps

t

S
o here's the final version, a lot of changes and the melodic break gone, replaced by moody stuff. Entirely new drums as my software crashed and I lost em all.

This version is home mastered.

what a pity with the drums, the drop sounds amazing, i can't judge the mixing because it's late here but the kick now sounds better, this is the kind of kick i like.

Hmmm... I wouldn't say that at all. This is certainly an improvement on the Berlin W/end track, and although I think the changes you've made work, I don't feel the melodic break was that bad to begin with. I think the way you're trying to meld these genres is coming together and sounding more refined.
At the end of the day everyone has their own tastes and expectations and you shouldn't be just trying to cater to please others at your own expense.
Yeah I realise you're probably feeling the darker stuff more at the moment, but I don't think you'd be doing the melodic thing to begin with if you didn't feel it.
