we'll start seeing extremist doing stupid things, like blowing their smoke in police officer's face. only to prove that they won.
and then, again, the government will spend money to restrain acces to smokers,
restaurants in canada, 2006:
-how many ?
-3.
-smoking ?
-yes.
-marijuana ?
-no, tobaco.
-humm.. sorry sire, we only have 3 places avaiable in weed section, you will have to wait.
let's hope people learned something with all tobaco problems. |
I really dont understand this post. Blowing smoke in officer's faces? You think thats an issue? Yes there will be a rush and some excitement at first but as with anything else, the fad will die. Anyone remember lazer pointers?
Here in ottawa smoking is banned in all public places. Restaurants, clubs, bingo halls.. whatever its banned. I actually think thats the way it should be. And there are more cities heading in this direction too. Either way if weed is too big a problem, its not hard to ban it indoors altogether.
I just HATE HATE HATE people (governments or otherwise) telling me what to do. Don't tell me what's good for me. They are working for us, not the other way around.

Mans _wp_, sorry my friend, but I have to say, that I don't agree with your opinions on the situation. First off this isn't a little childish thing about smoking weed, that's the whole point, everyone's doing it, including older people, the majority of people that are smoking aren't little high school kids, and as for the people fighting for legalization being little kids.... what are you talking about? There are some serious people out there lobbying for it, full political groups, that's not a little kiddie thing. True there are a lot of punk teenage kids out there, but they'll act stupid for what ever reason they can find, even more so off being drunk, and shit disturbing amongst people. Seriously who would smoke weed in an officers face, not likely to happen, unless you're totally retarded, because legalized weed doesn't mean the end of existents for cops, or taking away there power in society. They're still cops, you do something like that, you'll have consequences to pay, and I think 97% of people must know that.
Look at Amsterdam, I know people that have visited, and people who live there, they both say that Amsterdam is a civilized mannered place. I don't even smoke that much anymore, but weed being outdated..... hehehehe ...... I don't even need to respond to that one!

first of all, about weed being outdated, it was only a joke.
second, i think most of the people are ready for the change, but some are not. And, if crime rate rise of 0.0001%, a lots of people will put the fault on the new law, but that's ok, its normal. all major evolution are that way.
And for the reference of people acting like kids, please note that i wrote : some people,(never said people who wants legalization are acting like kids, or if i did, i didn't mean it!) it may be 97% as you said, but honestly, do you really think the 3% will stay in shadow ?
i really understand your point of view and, like i said before, i really hope the new law will be well accepted.
but that, only time can tell.
