i sometimes additionally to the track title i have a key word that remembers me which track is it like "boat party" and i instantly know that was the track that hooked me up on the boat party for example.

I have a paper sleeve typed and on the cd i writçte with a pen keywords. Another useful technique is to put a "**" on the tracks you surely are going to play so that you can spot them on a glance.

My memory is horrible. I'm about to try to help it out by using some form of colour scheme for various styles

I also put *'s in font of bangers/good songs. If i dunno what to play next i Go to the search bar and type a "*". Then i sort my library by bpm and throw in the next song. Usually gets me out of jams

I'll occasionally stick a random comment in, either an adjective or part of the lyrics, which helps me to quickly search for things if I have a brain fart. (I'm talking Traktor, here.)

ex:
"I'm a different person"
Classic house organ
Long intro, good for genre change
Nearly trance (on a particularly melodic deep house track)

In the genre field, I try to get it as close as I can to my personal idea of the genre, but don't spend too much time sweating it.

Take the time to know your tracks and get only the music you love and you will never forget where you put it. More is less.

"oooh look at me, i play vinyl and i know my songs by heart"
bullSHIT! You know as well as me, and every other turntable junkie, that if you'd have to name any of your tracks you'd be lost.
"What's that song called?" "Ummmm yellow sleeve with purple writing. the b side"

Bag of dicks? Really. I thought you'd be better than stealing from a fucking irishman.

Who do you think the heckler he was talking about is. Seriously every record is labeled man...I'm more likely to forget a track name on cd. If you are going to play a cohesive set with great flow you already know what to play pretty much before you play it...but you wouldn't know anything about that so I'll stick with you still mad. You really think I just pull a record out of a bag randomly and play it, or just use records? mad and fishing.

First of all, why are caring so much? Where is the cool jay that easily spotted an in-joke. yes, dj's only knowing the colours/design of the vinyl cover and not the name is fucking universal.
I played vinyl before you stopped wearing braces son.
mad and fishing? more like someone being too old/lame to see the joke.

also, i think you're an imposter. you haven't made ONE funny comment that's been even remotely in the spirit of jay under this alt.

Suck my dick, bitch.
