I apologize for coming off like a schmuck but lately this community has really turned into that elite "circle" of refusing to like mainstream. In 1988 no one knew who Guetta even was, people forget. We are all here for love of music and I was trying to help someone out with that same love.....I didn't expect snarky remarks but I guess it's inevitable and I need to get over it. I edited it because I like to be punctual.......not everyone is perfect, including my grammar. Yet I owe some serious respect to auto-spell otherwise I'd be getting ripped apart for being dyslexic. What ever happened to plur? Zero respect, less love, and as far as i can see you are trying to destroy unity, who cares that anyone hates alesso, i hate Hilton but I'm not going to dis anyone because of differing opinions. Get back to the roots man PLUR. We are all on tranceaddict for a reason.......sorry if I offended you.....or if i can't spell etc. |
Dude, i would love to be all moosh-y and love-y with you but i can't. the reality is that shitty music and that shitty productions will always be bashed. Deal with it. Just because some one has a following does not mean they are good. You know what would happen if justin beiber or who ever is "hot" now is allowed to participate in Dj-mag top 100 poll? he would win. probably top place. Does that mean he has talent? No, just has a good marketing team that created a following. I mean would britney spears be considered a classic? Hopefully your answer is NO. So think twice when you come to a board(forum) that has thick roots into the music industry. A board with local producers and local promoters, who are struggling to keep that "feeling". You think twice before you drop a mainstream name, because most of them don't deserve that fame.
Of course people will take a crack at this thread, because deep down we hate the fact that people go support these acts and let the real artist struggle. it is just something you will have to deal with in such forums.

@ appatula
you're right, some of the things i posted were i guess a lil childish and disrespectful
but at the same time it was funny you even know it.
if you cant look down inside at the reality of what alesso play's and kinda crowd he attracts and say to yourself "this isent mainstream" then you're lieing
heck if you wanna make the situation any better you can joke about the crowd at a blk market party
what aldi wrote is pretty much spot on. like seriously who the fuck is alesso? guy came on the scene a year ago put out some shitty pop songs and all of a sudden he sells out gov island and opens up for madonna? i give him credit for milking people outta their cash to support him, but i deffff dont respect him...
you got locals and other dj's out there who been in the scene for years and kept it real to their sound and stay within the underground to put on some good parties
edm from house to trance and all these new "fusion" genre's combined with pop acts and such is def not what me and prob more than half the people on this board know of the scene 6-8 years ago
this is all new to us and quite frankly it's dog shit
here is an excellent quote from solarstone talking about trance:
"Pure Trance is a feeling, a passion which exists outside of the contemporary musical fads ands fashions, a sound which has proved time and time again to be one with longevity, one which has united and unified EDM lovers worldwide since Trance first onto the worldwide scene in 1998."
not saying you posted about trance, but people new to the scene who see armin, ferry, gareth,a&b and all those old school trance act's who turned to the pop sound BUT yet still define their music as "trance" is what really grinds my gears, its not trance at all just cause they say it is
to sum it all up, todays average clubber lacks education upon where their music came from and what it is today...they just stick wit the mainstream and are gullible to what they hear and see
