the senn's are much better than the sony's. in fact, i don't even have the sony's right now 'cause they're at a sony warehouse for repairs one of the cup swivels cracked bigtime
Are they in repair under warranty? If not, how much is it to get the cup swivels replaced or repaired? That's exactly where mine are cracked, on both sides

The Senns are the best, plain and simple. Also there is a HUGE sticky at the top of this forum concering headphones, just read it. It has all you need to know.

The 7506 are more accurate than the 700s. Remember that 700s are made for DJ applications, and the 7506 are not to that extent...
According to reviews, they have a more well balanced accurate sound than 700s. Also, they supposedly don't weigh that much, and they are very comfortable (according to reviews).
I believe the 7506 came out before the 700s, they are an older model.
However, newer isnt always better. My causin has had his Sony headphones (V600 line) since the 80s, and they sound great and they have lasted.
I'm getting to really notice now that many of the new electronic products that look very cool are actually made pretty cheap and don't last at all.
How do they compare to the Sennheiser HD25 or Sennheiser line? I don't think any Sony headphones compare with top of the line Sennheisers like the HD25s. The Sennheisers are at a complete professional level when it comes down to headphones, you can read many reviews and conclude for yourself.

And note that Sony's standard warranty on most of its headphones lasts only three months! And even on its "fixable" consumer-line models such as the V700DJ, its labor coverage only runs three months, as well. Sorry, bachatu; if your pair is over three months old, then be prepared to pay as much as half the price that you've originally paid for those V700DJ's just to replace the entire headband (yep, that's the only way to "fix" those cracks).
Sony MDR-V6 = Sony MDR-7506 = good
Sony MDR-V900 = Sony MDR-7509 = bad
Sony MDR-V700DJ = bad
Sony MDR-V600 = Bad
Sennheiser HD280 Pro = good
Sennheiser HD25 = good
Ultrasone HFI-650 = good
Beyerdynamic DT250-80 = good
There's a huge thread on headphones stickied at the top I think.. read through it and it helped to explain a lot. Definately worth a read if you're going to get some new headphones
