Anyone in marketing knows the consumers attention span is reducing, afterall people are now bombarded with messages all vying for attention.

Nice track but is I think too baggy, in the way some films are. Browsing beatport we get a small segway of a track and tend to base a buying decision on that, so I guess labels think an overlong track could put most buyers off as they won't know what the other 8 mins is all about.

Labels are really struggling so it's no wonder they are being careful about what they get involved with now.

If you want the track to retain the artistic integrity you envisaged, then maybe just give it away / release yourself, if the art is your MOST important consideration.

Passenger 10 - Turkish Delight (Original Mix) by Passenger10

Storyteller posted this track a while back. It's recent and I believe very relevant. After Storytella posted it I heard it on one of the major dance music radio shows.

I think there will always be a market in EDM for long progressive structured tracks. If you have a release with an original and 3 remixes, I don't see why one of them can't be a long progressive structured remix. I am not saying to release tons of long songs, but a few here and there seems ideal.

honestly think the arrangement is bloated and just lacks focus. Same with the original one posted.You take too long to say so little. It is just poor writing. The form is not elaborate enough to warrant the length. I don't think there is a wrong or right length, but most of these tracks that are 10 minutes are just structurally weak.

think ive said this a few times before:

* 128bpm
* 8 sections a 32bars/1min (intro,part1,2,3,1,2,3,outro) = 8min track

Oh come on, it's electronic dance music. You hear 10 seconds, you've heard the track. In like 98% of cases it hardly matters if the track is 5 minutes or 10 minutes.

With pretty much every track I've seen posted on the production forum here, you could cut off the first and last 30-90 seconds and it would only make the track better.

well the last 30 seconds are meant to be simple as fuck to help djs mixing , you've radio edits for listening purpose but i hate the trend in progressive house tracks of cuting the bass and nearly every noticeable element on the outro, i like to keep the exiting track playing for some bars and with this kind of outros you've to make rough transitions.

By the way, in all fairness trance specially uplifting is boring right now, the intro until breakdown is something that bery few people put effort in that, as a result you most times skip to the breakdown which can be generic and if the melody is lackluster isn't interesting either. So in a 8 minute track you get 2-3 listeneable minutes.

I really enjoyed this track, great job!

It is a little long thou, best is to give it to someone you trust to shorten it who isn't attached to the track.
