I don't know. But I know that in SA the blacks fucking hate whites. That's a giant generalization, but it's not many years since you could hear "Kill the boer" being chanted in the streets..

That being said, I know that Kenya and Tanzania has a larger wild bush/city ratio, so it should in theory be safer. Plus you'd probably be trekking with guards/guides if you were going to those countries.

Edit: Kenya has high rate of crime all across the board, while in Tanzania theres more of the pick-pocket/petty crime that's prominent, although they too do have they share of 'smash&grabs' @ intersections etc.

I spent a month or so in Kenya and yeah, it can get rather dangerous. However, if you have your wits about you and you're sensible, you should be fine.

i was in cape town during the world cup and was totally fine, some of the most polite people i have ever met, obvs you stay away from the slums/rough areas but that's expected everywhere, plus its so segregated there you prob wont have an issue,
