Several possibilities:
- A list of early badass 90s darker trance
- A list of modern psyprog
- A list of some really shitty Andy Blueman-styled uplifting

JVS is clearly a bit of a clown who's not to be taken too seriously, but you people are coming up with some awful music from '99 to defend its honour.

The "easiest solution" -- as Baudrillard calls it -- is to accuse me of being a troll or a clown; but guys, that won't get you anywhere. I'm neither of that; sorry to burst your bubble. (if I come across as a clown, and I wouldn't be surprised if I do, that's because there is no other way for me to approach this ridiculous subject)

My point -- in case you failed to get it -- is that pretty much every single year following 1999 was better than the year 1999 itself. That's simply how shit works -- progress is inevitable. The only thing that makes difference is the rise in production with the effect of making good stuff harder and harder to find. That's all.

But that's less relevant since in my original post I went beyond this to proclaim that 99's trance -- specifically the one represented by your list -- is ridiculous. And I stand behind this as much as it's pain for you to hear it.

Shit! I'm tired of having to explain this bullshit, so let's put it this way -- even In and Out of Love is more engaging than any of the poop from your list. Even main menu music from video games from 1999 is MORE ENGAGING than any of the poop from your list (in fact, videogame music -- from 80's nonetheless lol -- was so good that Zombie Nation simply had to borrow some melodies from it). Fuck, even Andy fucking Blueman is more engaging! And this leads me to the following question: why the fuck do I have to come up with an equally long list of decent tracks if I can demolish it simply by mentioning a couple of shitty tracks that are MILES ahead of everything on your list?

So to recap what the retards are saying: this is better than this! LOL.

(as a side note, unlike many of the retards, I have nothing against "fluffy" trance; the problem is it tends not to be complex enough, that's all there is to it)

I think the greatest year for trance was 1993 only because of Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth and Jam & Spoon - Follow Me. No longer list needed But since they were played most in 1994 among so many others 1994 maybe even is a better year.

Also, what the hell Matt?

hey man the aura surrounding 1999 is legendary.

-1998 was a prelude year to what was to come the following year.
-2000 was basically 1999 part 2 because people were still hungry for that '99 sound.

I was actually going to mention 1993 in my opening post. that year was heavy due to tracks like cafe del mar and love stimulation. cosmic baby was a force to be reckoned with so I'm not hating your opinion. I just think the aura of 1999 is so great because it features tracks that I grew up on and they still stick with me.

There are probably arguments for several years, so it's not something I would argue about. Your age and how you experienced it is one of those. 1999 was awesome too.

And name-dropping Baudrillard won't make you sound any less like a clown. Yes, a lot of the glowstick trance people have nostalgia for from that year is actually quite crap, but you're still making some absolutely ridiculous statements.

I think you should go and make some friends in the real world, rather than constantly seeking attention on an online music forum.

The easiest solution is for you to quit acting like one. Coming up with something other than an appeal to novelty, on which you comically rest your argument, would go a long way in alleviating the waste you've laid to your credibility. As it is, your statements are ridiculous.
