the transition into "Aria - One" on GU19

Disc 2 track 9 from 4:40 until track 10 at 1:01, the whole transition is about 4 minutes long, I would fucking lose my mind if I heard that at a club. And he did it with vinyl, it's matched so tight and the transition is so subtle it takes a trained ear to even notice there's 2 records playing. Really it's a mastery of what spinning this kind of music was about, there's a reason he saved it for the money shot at the end usually artists are able to recognize their best work

Did he actually do it on vinyl? Almost all the GU compilations were digitally mixed.

Yup, that's what makes him one of the best djs in the world in my opinion. He does this kind of thing live and it is just mind blowing. I love the 4 minute breakdown of The Fall and then that transition into One Last Time right after. It's like you are on auto pilot for a while and then out of nowhere the ship is put into warp drive and you're flying around all over the place. I love it!

on vinyl takes a little more skill since you've to be very delicate with the platter so you don't distort the key with an eventual fast movement but if you are playing rather slow stuff it's not very hard to do a long blend, specially with older tracks that have a lot more headroom, right now making long blends with current trance tracks is highly unadvisable since there is no room and outros are structured in a way that is better to simply drop it with proper phrasing.

Yea Adam, this is probably the best home-made mix that I can recall in I dont know how long. First off, your mixing is pro-level imho. Your track selection and programming is brilliant. Its a fucking good mix.
