Wordpress is probably the most reliable and established out of any other platform.

Is there a reason you don't want to get a self hosted blog? You can get pretty cheap hosting for like $3/month nowadays for low traffic blogs. Installation is a breeze too, most shared hosting companies have Fantastico installed on their cPanel which lets you install Wordpress in less than a minute.

I'm only asking because with a self hosted option you would have a lot more options as far as costumization goes plus it looks more professional if you give somebody your own URL instead of yoururl.wordpress.com.

yeah man get your own site, I think dreamhost and bluehost are still great

you get a discount on bluehost if you're in school

Sounds like a good deal, I'll do so when I know ill take full advantage of it, gotta factor is domain and maybe any other expenses. For now, a motherfucking blog!
