Also, if any single element (CPU, RAM, or RPM) is especially deficient, it cannot be "made up for" by the others.
9 hours sounds very reasonable to me for that system, but it would be less if you did it more frequently.

Just defrag once every 4-7 days. If you use ur PC a lot, defrag every 1-2 days. You'll never have to wait HOURS to defrag again! I havent defragged since January! Can you estimate how long it would take with all this?:

5400 RPM 20 GB HDD (I think my HDD's 5400 RPM but I'm not sure. How do u find this out?)
