I agree with what's been said so far for the most part.
I didn't hear the original version, but for me the kick is a little overpowering in this version, possibly a little too much around the 80-100hz region.
The bell melody is a little too much all the way through as it is, although using delay and/or reverb all the way through would help a lot. In fact if you automated parameters within the fx units throughout the track the bell sound itself would become a trigger for the fx, which would then become the lead.
I like the oldskool feel though, always have and always will
