The only argument that abortion is murder falls on two general claims:


1. That a fetus is equal to a conscious human being. I have seen no evidence that supports this whatsoever. This typically gets broken down into First trimester, Second trimester, and Third trimester ratings, with the Third trimester being deemed "equally human" by the anti-choice crowd. Again, I've seen no evidence at all that supports this, and Third trimester abortions are extremely rare and their occurrence is more to do with complications that threaten the life of the mother. Do we make contraception illegal? Will masturbation be considered genocide? If a woman has her period and doesn't become impregnated at puberty, is she guilty of mass murder?
