He only released 3 EPs and two collabs with Four Tet since Untrue (5 years ago!) so I don't really mind if he runs with his formula. Although if he ever brings out a new album (which I doubt) he's going to have to do something new.

He's done a couple of things for compilations as well, so he's put out another album's worth of material since then, just drip-fed. I don't mind as such, but his stock is coming down in value from "Must listen immediately" to "Oh, more Burial".

I've actually just listened to the Kindred EP for the first time and it's really fucking good. Love those arpeggios. Certainly a lot better than this new one, if the samples are representative.

Is this some kind of joke or am I missing something here? Rival Dealer sounds borderline cacophonic and totally out of tune. The other sound like Untrue outtakes with exaggerated cheesyness and beyond in your face samples.

I'm really hating the drum samples in some of the parts. That typical trap/10's rnb plastic snare and hihat combo.
Found it interesting mashed up with 80s sounding synths and pads tho.

Heh, I don't see what's so bad with either in Rival Dealer. Come Down to Us is probably the only one I'm not digging.
