Serato Video is a ScratchLIVE plugin. It's very easy to use as it lets you mix music videos as easily as mixing on CDJ's or Vinyl. You just beat match the audio like you normally would, you don't have to worry about syncing the videos. You can get creative and do video effects but most DJ's don't even bother.
Joaquim Garrud or whatever his name is, it's a fucken genius on Serato Video. He has all kinds of custom made effects for his shows and does some very creative stuff.
To be able to mix videos on ScratchLIVE, they must be saved as MP4's. MP4's are files similar to Mp3's but with video on it, similar to AVI's.
If you play an MP3, Serato Video will assign a random visual from a predetermined Visual's folder.
Many DJ's create custom video edits for their sets. I'm one of them and I'm assuming Markus has some custom made videos as well. You can also buy videos off iTunes but the quality is kinda shitty. Otherwise, it's best to join a record pool as they have better quality. Because everyone and their momma's are DJ's now, there's a ton of shitty quality videos floating around. :/
