yeah I've been hammering this for days, it's freeakin ace, best 40 bucks I've spent on a plug-in in... well days.
(I've had pretty rampant gas lately with all these sales and whatnot!)

Yep, inspired by this new baby I created/started some chords progression which is or will be sweet base for a new uplifting dance track (sorry for self promotion but I find this related to our topic)

Please ignore if you don't really care

Please tell me you do hear that the progression is quite crappy.

Nope just opposite -> now I'm taking this personally

Actually this new plug-in is sweet and very easy to work with + within 15 min from having a basic melodic idea I want through tons of chords variations so sorry this is probably something you would not like to hear but I really like it - more option is good thing!!!

Cheers mate,

Darek

and begin the issues with people with bad ears that don't ear the inner voices which sound awful. Not sure why he didn't program some sort of algorithm to avoid awkward voicing. I always think tools like this are rather pathetic but oh well,

Yeah, I think some of this stuff is up to producer to filter through some of this crap before commit to particular (and best sounding) chord/s

no , i think it up to a producer to think of the example in its harsh awkward form and construct something from the pattern that sounds acceptable. This is at best a simulation.

i got this now

got a reasonable of grasp of basic music theory, think this is an interesting tool

unless im missing something it doesnt tell you which key your in for each preset. You could work it out but would take a bit of time - so you just have to try and find the chord that resolves things by ear.

also it would be really useful to be able to drag midi data out of there. When i use this i will prob just end up entering the chords i like in the piano roll and using it as an inspirational jump start.

do find it inspiring though - just ordered a book on harmony i need to learn more about this shit!

At least you can put in your own chords and mess around with it that way.

Using the Bach chords default preset banks will just make you sound like Bach.

I haven't even looked at the video as I already know it's not for me, but as a potential source of inspiration I kind of see the point. You must be able to already tell if something's going to work or not though. I guess it'd be something that I'd use to maybe trigger a chord that I probably wouldn't have gone to myself. One can get stuck in a rut sometimes.

I mostly agree with this and I can see why it wouldn't really appeal to a lot of the really experienced musicians, but I'm finding it to be a valuable time saver.
I'm not really using the presets, more rolling my own in specific keys as I'm primarily a guitarist more so than a keyboard player, so it's helpful for me in that sense.

Maybe I didn't express myself correctly but simply have the same view as you lol - this tool is pretty fixable and let you either select prerecord pattern or use one from catalog and completely rework/modify it on the fly - so simply, this easy of use flow got my attention and for $39 you can't go wrong with it -> but you are right ultimately the decision is in my hand.

Cheers,

Darek
