Hey, we have rave bylaws here in Edmonton, too. We have a rally to support our cause... don't know how much it did, but it killed the original bill. We have some really weird laws in this city that pretty much messes our scene. We have parties roughly twice a year... and within a month span haha. Just don't get it. Sorry to hear about your troubles in DC though.

Hip hop clubs do get closed down, theres a lot of busts, none of you here about it because it doesnt make any news except the local, and most of us don't keep up w/ that stuff.

Well, I know for a fact that before you get in, you get patted down by the bouncers really thorough. And im not sure what the real reason behind this, but youre not allowed to bring in bubble gum as well. Maybe because you can hide a pill in a piece of Bubbleyum Bubblegum?
There's really not a whole lot that you can do to fight the drug problem at Buzz though. And as much as I hate to say this, but the biggest way to get rid of the drug scene at buzz is by changing the crowd that goes there. But if Buzz tried to pull in a more mature crowd by enforcing stricter dress codes, that wouldnt be fun anyway and who would want to go to that?
So as you can see, there's no real way to fix this problem except:
1. move to canada (back to canada for me )
2. RIOT the hell out of the white house.

From my experience with the scene at rap clubs, theres a higher risk of being shot or (capped in yo azz) rather than raves because all the kiddies are mostly drugged out and talking about PLUR. Thats why the cops are always rolling up to rap clubs.

That really stinks, anti-rave bill. Sounds like a similar thing to what we had in the UK in the early 90s that banned all outside parties/raves.
You'll never stop the drugs thing, in London/UK it's just accepted as part of the scene. If anything there's a move towards liberalisation with the possibility pills will be d/graded to class C drug (lower sentences for possession)
