Since I live in Canada I obviously have pretty awesome coverage, hah. But the system is painfully slow here, my mom waiting about 4 months for an MRI after she fractured her knee only to reveal she needed surgery which would take additional 2-3 months waiting. She eventually paid for a flight to Germany to get it done in a matter of weeks and the procedure cost her about $2,000. Whats ridiculous about the health care system is that my friend who also mangled her knee in a skiing accident got an MRI in ONE week. Its great that its free here to a degree through taxes of course, I don't mind the paying through taxes for it but the system is really fucked. I hope I never get a serious health problem.
I have some benefits through work though from Sunlife Financial, most of the standard stuff; $2,000/year coverage on dental, $250/year on vision (lenses or frames or both), 80% off medication, etc. It's great but I rarely ever use it. I do need gum grafting done as my gums have receded and my two front bottom teeth hurt a little, so the dental benefits will cover most of it (surgery for it is usually around $1,000 - $1,500).
