This party was off the hook!!! From the new DJ booth layout, to the decor (low lit candles hung from the ceiling - each candle had a different glow - some dimmer some brighter - gave off a great aura), cool visual effects and displays (the skeleton voodoo projection on both side walls with the red heart beat line moving past them) to of course - the music!!
Marciano was the perfect opener for C&C. Last time I saw him was when he played with Nicola Torriero as "Casa Nostra" back in February 2010 when DJ Vibe didn't show up and they ended up subbing and played all night. That was actually one of the most memorable parties I've ever been to at stereo and the closest to the "perfect tribal set"!
Really dug Marciano's set - deep, chunky tribal. When he played "Tickly Voodoo" I couldn't help but think that it was a great song to go along with the skeleton projections and dim lit candles
Chus and Ceballos came on right at 4am and delivered the goods! Served us drums on a silver platter all night long . There were about 4-5 serious tracks that just took us to another level. Highlight of the night for me was around 9am when Chus dropped Victor Calderone - Let Me Set You Free ... getting to hear that on Stereo's sound system was the icing on the cake!! Decided to call it quits 30 min later so we could freshen up before the bus but definitely regretting that now...
Chus and Ceballos in Toronto and Chus and Ceballos in Montreal are two different performances. That is clear to me now. I won't be seeing them in TO anytime soon - when ever I need my tribal fix I'll make the trek up to Stereo. Like HappyDude72 said - they were made for Stereo.
