So what?
It was a racial slur. If any white said creepy ass ****** everyone would throw a fit.
There is an obvious media bias. Even the court is biased considering there is an all female jury. The same media that kept showing pictures of lil baby tray tray when he was 12 years old and george zimmerman with orange shirt similar to a prison jumper is continuing to smear zimmerman. Everyone wants zimmy to fry but facts dont lie and since they charged him with murder 2 and not a lesser charge, he is going to walk.

Comparing "cracker" to "n.igger" is as much of a stretch as the prosecutor seeking a 2nd degree murder conviction.
Dude deserves jail time. Maybe not life, but jail time for sure.
I'm glad we both agree charging him with 2nd degree murder was a mistake.

can't fucking believe the case of the year is in the hands of these fucking nitwits. I mean what the fuck. Seriously, the usa is just fucking funny.
Guy would of accepted a plea for second degree in any other fucking country, I mean only in the USA can you shoot a darky and walk. I mean fucking OJ. Trial by jury is fucking scary when your peers are american.
I'm glad we both agree charging him with 2nd degree murder was a mistake.
I Was honestly surprised they went with it and the judge didnt laugh his ass off. The media frenzy caused the prosecution to ride the wave of zimmy hate and that is why this is going to fail. A person taking a life must always be held accountable, to what degree is what our judicial system is for. When it comes to this case and the charges, zimmy has the advantage. Is it fair? Yes because it wasnt murder 2. Should he have been charged with a lesser degree and held accountable? Yes because he took a life.
Really the only issue I have with this is african diaspora and the media making this into what every high profile case has become. A chance for people to take sides and allow shallow emotion to overshadow our impartial judicial system.

Sadly, Mr. Zimmerman is going walk.
The prosecutor overreached when he charged him with murder instead of manslaughter.
Another summer, another soap opera in the American media.
Knock Knock jokes and testimony from these kind of "star" witnesses:
What more could you ask for?
BTW, I made a thread about this case a year ago and it's not coming up in the search
Manslaughter is used in cases involving deaths caused by accident and/or negligence. Had Trayvon been shot while trying to wrestle the gun away or had it gone off accidentally while the 2 fought, THAT, would be manslaughter. BUT Zimmerman has admitted to intentionally killing Trayvon, without premeditation. Which is basically the main element of Murder 2.

Isn't that what everything in this country boils down to? Taking sides?
I hate the mainstream media with a passion. Especially television.
Turn every fucking thing into a soap opera instead of reporting the facts, informing the people of court processes, and discussing the bigger issues at hand.
Pundits are pussies. Fuck 'em.

Voluntary manslaughter.
quote:
Voluntary manslaughter occurs either when the defendant kills with malice aforethought (intention to kill or cause serious harm), but there are mitigating circumstances which reduce culpability, or when the defendant kills only with an intent to cause serious bodily harm. Voluntary manslaughter in some jurisdictions is a lesser included offense of murder. The traditional mitigating factor was provocation; however, others have been added in various jurisdictions.
Sounds about right for what happened.

Here's the thing, the goal of almost ALL prosecutors is to charge defendants with the MOST serious crime the evidence will allow. So why charge a person with Manslaughter (in any form) when the elements of Murder 2 are present.
Remember, Zimmerman has already admitted to; seeing someone he thinks is up to no good, pursing and fighting that person then shooting him once it was clear he was losing the fight IMO, the mitigating circumstances are negated by Zimmerman's actions !

voluntary manslaughter would not fly. You would have to basically assume a hoody and being black is enough provocation to get in the heat of the moment and kill someone. Nobody is going to put that on paper.
He pointed a gun and shot. 2nd degree murder. 3rd degree ass burns if he gets sent to the big house.

Oh, so now it's that. But before you were trying to school me on what manslaughter means.
Pick your poison and stick with it.

A hoody and being black enough? Are you kidding me?
“Provocation is said to be adequate if it would cause a reasonable person to lose self-control”.
They were wrestling on the ground for a few minutes before the gun was even taken out.
That's provocation. Heat of the moment type shit.
Was it self-defense? No. Because Zimmerman followed and pursued him.
