Well, i hate to break it to you but a lot of the tunnel trance force tunes and the dj networx series are cut short...and the dream dance series are disgustingly cut short!! Come on now.... they have 20 tracks on each cd and your telling me that they arent cut short... Yes, there are some quality tracks on them but not many... They are not consistent with their music selections. Youll get a decent trance tune... then comes a queer housy tune..And as for the tunnel trance force series... yes he come up with decent tunes too, and then dj deans second cd always blows.. And dj networx series is the same way. They have a kickass first cd, then second cd brings it way down.. I think if i were to ever buy a compilation cd... it would definitely be the trancemasters series... I think they are the most consistent. But the right way to go is to get your single full length tunes from the comp.

i don't think one should generalise abt compilations.
there are good compilations out there.
i think the thing is that..
if there are too few tracks, some ppl will say "oh i'm not gettin my money's worth".. if there are too many like some of u say, then... theres this opinion..
i think compilations in general are aimed at those who don't have access to those new tunes, or vinyls, or they just don't know whats good.. *shrugs*

Well I don't really mind if the track is cut short on the comp. Like Widget said - if I wanna hear the whole thing I will listen to the single. On the better compilations the tracks may be shortened - but at least they are not the "radio edits". These edits are all cut up and often don't make musical sense. Buildups disappear or are shortened, sections of the track removed just bad. A truncated version of an original is not so bad.

I was listening to a compilation by a Aussie Dj recently (Fishmix 1) and the tracks are almost complete. Granted there are only about 15 tracks - but they are mixed so early!! (eg Sonic Silence - Ultimate Seduction is first heard like 3 minutes before the CD track actually begins.)

mizz - how about Slinky - Intercontinental!

Trance compilation cdz are what got me into trance so i its difficult to critize the thing that got me into beautiful thing thats called TRANCE! I do agree the likes of the last few euphoria and m.o.s sound cdz do suck and the mixing is terrible however they normally play the most excitin bit of each track and its good advertisin for up n coming artists and it also gets trance deeper into the community! so its not all bad.
