Look, I'm against war and innocent victims, but tell me: What should the world do, if Iraq builds weapons of mass destruction in the next year?

I'm not trying to flame your point of view, I just want to hear any constructive ideas on how to deal with the (very real) threat of what a fanatical maniac like Hussein can do, if he has these weapons.

i belive Sharon and his accolytes has to be gotten rid of as soon as possible.

i cant justify Bush or Sharon most of the time, but what you are all doing wont get anyone anywhere.

you all seem to believe that us US people have no idea the world is fucked up in certain ways. true, there are a large number of idiots in the US, but not generally on TA - yet you like to act that way. The US has acted justly and injustly in the past 100 years of history, but every country has done the same within and outside of the borders. and anyone that refuses to deny that is either lying to themselves or not involved politically in the wider scheme of things.

What would happen to the state of the planet if the US just disappeared, or pulled out of world affairs entirely, no capital exports, no business outside the borders, and did not involve itself outside of the country?

OK, you're right about these issues; I agree.
However: Israel is a democracy, whereas Iraq is a bloody dictatorship.
Saddam Hussein has fought his own people, and poisoned them; he is a maniacal dictator.
In Israel, there are democratic elections, and people live freely and well.

i have nothing to fear cause i KNOW israel holds a higher moral ground then iraq does.

ok lets compare:

both USA, israel AND iraq have biological and chemical weapons. Only one of them has used them in a war, and that same country even used it agianst its own citizens!

both USA and Israel have nuclear weapons, only one has used them in a war (US not israel). furthoremore i belive if iraq acquires nukes it would not hesitate to use them (as evident by use of its other WOMD)

Sharon vs. Saddam - no court of law has ever convicted sharon of any wrong doings (dont forget it was a chirstian militia who committed the act), innocent until proven guilty. Saddam has a long history of assasinating any politcal rival as well as oppressing his own people.
In israel there is complete freedom of religion as well other the other basic freedoms (speech, press, etc), in palestine (under PA) or iraq those freedoms are nearly non-existant. israels government is voted upon by its own people.

dear god i hate middle east politics.

In one corner you have those Bush-bashers who rather America just sits on their asses and keeps giving them the Coca-Cola and Windows that they enjoy, and leave them be. Anything Bush says is dumb, because hes a dumbass. They shouldnt have bombed Afghanistan, and now they shouldnt go into Iraq. No questions asked.

Then you have the americans on the defensive, who then have to take a all-american all-bush or whatever stance.

there is no middle ground which is so stupid.

The struggles in the middle east is a no-win situation!!!

To all those who say we should have peace, how do you suggest we do it? Many times war is necissary. And to those who say war is the only option, you must look at others as well.

1) Dont be FOOL people, ¿do you REALLY THINK Bush actions are caused by his desire to make this a better world? YEAH RIGHT!

3) US didn't CARED when Irak used chem weapons against Iran. They just use this argument in order to convince us.

4) Being a democracy IS NO JUSTIFICATION. Ok, the US bombs here and there, but HEY, it's a D-E-M-O-C-R-A-C-Y so it's ok, no?

5) In ¿1981? Irak was closer to get a A bomb than now. They tell us that he might be less than a YEAR close of making an atomic bomb. Well that's probably bullshit propaganda. Remember: Don't trust this "estimates" so blindly.

6) "Moral highground". I agree with that, but there is an important point that should be made.

When you have MORAL HIGHGROUND it doesn't mean that it's actions are always more "acceptable". Eg: Israel does this, Irak does that, but Israel has a higher moral ground so it's more acceptable what Israel has done.

The truth is that if you are a civilized democracy (Israel, US, Europe), you are EXPECTED to act more FAIR and JUSTLY. WE AS A WORLD expect MUCH BETTER ACTIONS FROM Israel than from IRAK. When we critizice Israel or America, we are not putting these countries in the same package as Irak.

Just remember that... (my 2 cents)
