yeah the health issue is terrible here , countries like France have better medical support than Canada

Canada should stay together. This country has incredible potential.

As for Quebec, I think they are just being sore losers (the seperatists, that is). Until recently, the Canadian Flag was BANNED from inside the Quebec Provincial Parliament. That's sad, and disrespectful to our country, which, like it or not, you are still a part of. I've also seen videos of seperatists ripping up + walking over Canada Flags during a Quebec City protest on Canada. To me, it just doesn't seem much different from Ossama and his buddies burning USA flags. Some things just sickens me. But thankfully, seperatism in Quebec is dying, because I like the French! It's a cool twist in our country.

point is, canada is a free country.

and about the english and french, i don't know much about the issue, so, i'm not going to pretend i am an expert. I did a little looking though, and found that i was mistaken about the food labels, it is actually the signs outside of buildings that i meant to mention.

I feel that if quebec wants to seperate so badly, then let them..

but, the last time they wanted to seperate they were just unreasonable. They wanted to still use canadian currency. They wanted to share the same cross border import/export laws with the united states as the rest of canada. and they wanted all this other stuff that IS CANADIAN, but to become a different country!!! What on earth is that all about!?

Sometimes it just gets on my nerves.. I was forced to take 9 years of french class in school, while in quebec the students dont have to take english (from what I've been told) even though we learned France french and not Quebec french..

they forced video game companies to include french instruction manuals with their games, In ALL OF CANADA , not just quebec.

they made english ILLEGAL on signs (along time ago) and even in english speaking french cities, you could not have english. but you could have other languages..

if you want to keep your french culture and language so badly, why dont you move to france.

sorry if i offended any people living in quebec, but that's the way I feel.


Now to the topic at hand.. you could mention something about the multiculturalism in canada.

I mean, in my school 50% of the students are chinese, 39% are white, 10% are brown, 1% black..

im a minority in my own school.. lol.

I agree. Ive they are so obliged and feel strongly to separate, why wont they just do it? I dont have any beef against Quebec or the french. If they wanna leave go ahead. They have good hydro and lumber exports and fishing, but those industries wont make a nation prosperous.

the use of candian currency is supposed to be temporary till dust settles down then switch to another currency. And for the export/import stuff you're talking about, they want to stay in the NAFTA... this isn't not proprely canadian... so i don't see why they shouldn't.

completly wrong about this... i learned english starting at 4th grade in junior and thru high school AND cegep... which means 11 years. Even now, they want young students to learn it even earlier... your sources are defiently wrong about this. And I'm sorry about your sorry ass French teacher

actually Quebec asked that every game sold in quebec must be bilingual (like all other products)... since the canadian market is so small, companies aren't stupid enough to make a version for english only canada and quebec version... one standard for all I guess...

yes English only signs are illegal as with any other language... it can be both in english and french or any language as long as french is the dominating language (larger font). I see nothing wrong with this, and its due to fact that in the 70s, all the big stores were posting signs in english only... this is still a majorly french province so I don't see why the majortiy shouldn't be served in their own language?? i would be happy to see your face when stores in toronto or vancouver will serve you only in chinese...

back in the days when i was in high school. there was like maybe 2 or 3 french people per class, not even 5-10% of school population. The rest being Greek, Armenians, Lebanese, Syrians, Haitian, etc etc...

we have almost every metal/mineral including gold and diamonds. Technology wise its very good especially with aerospatial (planes and shit like that)... the IT is big. The economy is pretty much diversified, even more than in Ontario which still heavily depends on manufacturing cars for the US. I think the only thing we lack is a big enough financial sector like in Toronto.
