This mix is soooooo goooooood. I liked all the tracks including those big room trancers at the end. The beginning up to big Trance was my favorite, starting off so deep and liked how you chained mixes of tracks together, particularly the Liouville mixes. Felt like I was somewhere else nice and warm despite the cold weather. This is staying on the ipod for sure.

Heard a lot new tracks I like, thumbs up.

Thanks for the great feedback. Glad you picked up on the chained mixes, it's something I used to see quite a lot from professional DJ's and discounted as laziness! But it actually works as a DJ tool in a way, enabling similar sounds to be spread out and keeping the flow going. Listeners can really pick up on the differences of course, but also the subtle ways in which the different mixes of the track hark back to the original.

Big thumbs up to you too for the fact it inspired some warm feelings, its always been the aim of this series to choose tracks that suffuse that glowing feeling. Happy that came across! Thanks again, and to all those who have listened.

Spike, as you're nearing your quarter century on this series I figured I'd post this since I've been a listener to the Redux mixes since day one. The right hand figure shows play count and doesn't include quite a few listens where I've streamed it from the mp3 links/Mixcloud at work. I've only just put 024 on my iPod having listened half a dozen or so times on mixcloud...

Really enjoyed this mix, first time I've came onto this forum, been skimming for a while and never really registered to have discussions mainly because all I see is a bunch of whining people in every thread.

Decided to look into the DJ sets forum though and this is the first one I listened too. I particularly enjoyed the flow of the set. I've noted down the tracks I particularly liked. Deep sky & blue moon was one of my favourites.

Only a week late to reply to this...

Thanks number 1 for your loyal listenership! And thanks number 2 for your great feedback along the way. It truly does mean a lot to me to know the music I put together is enjoyed by others, in fact it gives me a stupid grin on my face.

I guess I started doing the Windmill Sessions because I heard so much great music that was never being used in a set context. Plus most of the mixes I heard were OK or 'good', but always had a few jarring tracks along the way that didn't fit the aesthetic in my opinion. I wanted to listen to music that gave me goosebumps, that enabled me to be introspective and to provide a suitable backdrop to the natural world around me. In essence it was a selfish exercise - I just wanted a regular source of very particular music that I thought was emotive and no one else seemed to be doing it, or else the trend was changing for a more immediate/dancefloor style.

That's what I set out to address in this series, to have a concerted, ongoing mix series that only utilised a specific deep, melodic side of electronic music, with no concessions along the way. It has been difficult at times (progressing 100bpm tracks up to 140bpm in two hours is interesting for example..!), but I hope that this core aesthetic hasn't and will never change - namely that the sets have a distinctive 'sound' and 'feel'.

I've got no plans to stop, 025 WSR is just around the corner and has some superbly delicate music from Russia to use that I'm excited about. Also hoping to do a Windmill Sessions retrospective, like a 3 hour best of selection, if there is any appetite for that? The series has been going for 7 years now, so there is plenty of fine music to plunder...

Most certainly!

I'll be honest my feedback probably isn't contructive, I know very little of how to put together a mix technically and I don't trawl beatport or other online places looking for tunes. I just feel that the effort some put in for the enjoyment of others should be recognised and your mixes have brought me a lot of that over the last few years.

I put together online material for others (nothing to do with EDM) and it takes a lot of work and effort to get the reports put together but I enjoy getting feedback whether it be good or bad so I know it's good to have someone put something as a response in these threads.

Thanks Tuggy - the tranceaddict community can't help it, we're a whiny bunch... Don't let that put you off, there's some great discussion, info, expertise and most importantly talent and passion on here too.

Appreciate the listen, glad it all flowed smoothly for you, welcome on board

Very pleased and grateful to see that you're still cranking these out, Spike. Your series has introduced me to so many lush, progressive tracks that I otherwise would have never found. I was sharing some recommendations from your previous sets with my younger brother this afternoon, as a matter of fact. Keep up the excellent work. We're listening.

Thanks for the support. I've downloaded several of your mixes in my time on TA, it's nice to be included in one.

Good to hear you're passing on the beats to your younger brother, that's awesome. Thanks for all the listens, I've got no plans to stop...

You're welcome, was a very strong remix package for Audio Noir, and yours and Gai Barone's version standing out. Will keep an eye on your future output, always great to see an artist on TA too.
