Can't find a DL link, that shit is nowhere. It's on my HD on my desktop computer though I THINK, which is currently sitting in a box 6000 KM away

There are better Essential Mixes by The Man Like out there, but this has more personal value to me than any other DJ mix. Not only did it make me an instant Sasha convert but it pretty much inspired me to start mixing - this was the first set where I listened to it inside out and analysed all the transitions to hear exactly how he'd mixed the records. The mix between Star Of David and The Hallelujah Song is just about the perfect transition for me - two records making love together. I still think this is a brilliant mix, but the second half descends somewhat into a chain of 10 minute epic house anthems.

Thanks for the SASHA link!!!

In total agreement too about Dixon, his has been one of my favorites this year. Innervisions is killing it as a label!

The Sasha mix has always been a personal favorite of mine bc i had it on tape and would play it constantly in my car. ah the memories. Sasha mixing BT will always bring back a rush of great memories. If anyone is interested here is the future sound of london 1993 one:

The Paul Van Dyk 1997 one:

I don't want to start shitting on other people's parade, but what exactly was special with Dixon's EM? I found the majority of the set to be normal, almost forgettable. It was a great listen but nothing memorable.

I want to mention 3 of them that I actually listened to the week they were featured (rather than listening to classics years later) that I enjoyed. All are from 2007.

Above & Beyond 2007 (only the first hour, second is Markus Schulz):

Paul Van Dyk Global Gathering 2007. Like the last 30 minutes is a power mix:

John Digweed 2007, especially the second hour.

Chris1011, I guess Dixon's just wasn't for you. Understandable, everyone has different tastes.

It is definitely a little more experimental. I personally enjoy the variation between vocal and dub tracks - perfectly balanced.

This one is a definite slow burner - probably with a majority of the tracks leaning towards the tech house end of things. There are no big drops which why I focused on the details and subtle rise and fall of a lot of the tracks. Tech house has a way of making things seem really unwavering - static. haha.
