I think the best way is to shook them , you have to leave them breathless , blow away , you have to impact of the first impression . If you give them this they will want more just like an addiction . This has probley happen to many of us and you just hear one song than the addiction starts . The way I would go about this , Tell them that you are going to play them a song , get them to relax and lie down on the bed , then walk out of the room turn the light off and shut the door { make the room pich black } , you do this to increase the right sence { hearing } , this makes it visual sound . The song that I would play is Extreme Trax Final fantasy . Try it and see

the bottomline.... either you like it or you don't!!! There may be a few tunes out there that may catch their ear.. but you cant change what you like and dont like... There is absolutely nothing you can do to get me to like rap, or hip hop!!!! My friends tried to get me to like it... i was open to it... and they do nothing for me.... So, i came to the conclusion that you have to have some interest in it...

yes agreed. i won't bash any other music genre cause they may interest another group of people. but hey, whatever floats your boat right? anyway, i mean personally i like rock to a certain extent because some songs actually DO have really good lyrics! and i've always loved the sound of guitars and shit...but that's just me. the next person might hate it.

Couldn't agree with you more Infinity. That song is what made me a tranceaddict.....if only i had $1 for everytime i listened to that song...

I also think you should get all your mates in a car, go for a hoon around town somewhere and crank up the stereo with some nice, hard trance.

Nothing better than driving fast and listening to trance. Gotta love it!!

Its true that you cant change someones interest in music but you can help them find trance if thats what they were really looking for.....i listened to alot of crap before trance but then when i found trance i realized thats what i have been looking for all the time....u can help your friends open their eyes...

Most of the time though I'll give out CDs I burned to my friends w/ trance songs on it, let them listen to it on their own time. You can fit like 90 songs on one 80 min CD so it's a nice sampler.

Robert Miles & Antiloop

Yes, I AGREE!

When introducing new people to trance (and electronica in general), I suggest starting with Robert Miles (Children, Fable, One & One), as well as "pop" trance groups like Antiloop (Believe, In My Mind, Nowhere to Hide) and even some of the commercial stuff like Sandstorm, Silence (by Delerium), Insomnia (by Faithless) and especially "beautiful" trance with female vocals (I'm sure most you liked this type of stuff at some point even if you've refined your tastes and can't stand it anymore)

Also, there's no better place to "baptise" someone to trance than at a party or club with hundreds of other people. Unfortunately, the prevading style of trance most DJs prefer at the moment, Progressive, is more of a refined taste and hard for beginners to enjoy.

Man, that must fucking nice! I envy you! Can anyone remember the 'Robert Miles - Children' videoclip, of the child in the car that just cruised around Europe. There were some beautiful places and landscapes in that videoclip. I think thats half the reason i love that song, is because of that videoclip, and the music fits in perfecly with it!

SWAMPER, GET THAT VIDEO DAMMIT!!!.....please....
