Extremely unlikely.

It does however have a setting that lets you set volume above 100% very easily which can distort/clip the sound. That may have been what was causing the distortion.

No, it just goes out of tune like an old audio cassette and it does not support ASIO.

for digital i only use streaming now (despite how dead it feels), not mp3, vinyl for rest. only thing on my harddrive is my own projects.

winamp was great and i almost get emotional when i browse the skins, but it belongs to an era which is dead years ago - just like the prog rock era of the 70s. leave it be, move on, but remember the good times

RIP mp3-riping of progressive trance, schranz techno, and hard house promo vinyls.
RIP napster and dc++ filesharing. And finally,
RIP winamp player in all its glory.

it was a hell of a ride, but ended way too fast.

it was the era of our own youth, the second generation of electronic dance music. in many ways the most influential generation. from fully analog to fully digital in less than 10 years.

the kids of today will never understand what changes we have witnessed and been a part of from the mid 90s and to this day when it comes to how to consume music. the kids take streaming and full access to all music, worldwide, legal, without malware, for granted. little do they know what it took to get there.

good thing is that vinyl stays strong, in some niches markets, because we will never know where this digital streaming era will take us. will everybody be part of the decision on the music selection in a club, using an online poll? i wouldnt be part of that sorry.
