I think everyones getting confused with DivX. It's a little CODEC which compresses DVD movies into small enough sizes they can be burned onto CDR. But it takes a beefy machine to do it though as DVD's are about 9 GB uncompressed

I don't seem to have any problems burning DivX CDRs. I just download DivX DVD-rips of Black Hawk Down and Stigmata today, burned them to CD no problem.

No burning them and/or watching them isn't the problem but whoever ripped them in the first place did. It takes about 6 hours on a P4 1700 as it fully CPU limited. Once it's ripped it's not a problem but the compression is that big that it's just a huge process
