Now after reading this i very quickly changed my order.

Good choice..they are for heavy duty dj use so you can be assured that they will take a beating?

did you get the SEDJ5000s or the HDJ1000s?

Ugh. The MDR-7505 has the very same crack-prone swivel covering as the MDR-V500DJ and the MDR-V700DJ. At least neither the V500DJ nor the 7505 is as heavy as the V700DJ.

sony headphones

I dunno why everyone talks shit about the Sony v700dj headphones, they've never given me a problem when i use them, I don't own them, but I do own a pair of v600 which have been beat to shit and are still in great condition. I think sony makes a great pair of headphones, maybe they're not the best at noise canceling in a loud club, but for basement dj'ing they're great.

I bought my 700's a couple months ago based on the advice of a couple local DJ's, but before I paid attention to this forum. So far they have been great . . .

Well, im not sure if the ppl that say they dont have any problems with the v700dj are DJs or just use them for listening, but I know whenever im (trying to) DJ, i bend my headphones in different ways to monitor. I couldnt do this with my old pair of V700DJs because the overall structure was flimsy and it cracked on me eventually.

I now use the Stantons dj pro 1000 mkII and those things are TOUGH and built to last (structure wise). The sound quality is pretty good, although not compared to the Sonys, and was about half the price of my sonys. I couldnt afford to spend on brand new Sonys
