I have some personal criticisms with certain choices in flow but it still was enjoyable, both parts.
The mix felt really akward in the beginning but I finally got into it around 'Moondust' and everything up until 'Tread Softly' was gold for me. You really controlled the moods and changed them nicely. That transition from 'Tears All Over You' into 'Above The Rim (Naibu Remix)' was a highlight for me, nice one.
So it pretty much felt like a different mix when 'Tread Softly' came in. The stuff played wasn't bad at all, it just hit the reset button on your flow control and went into this high gear stuff too suddenly.
I would have left the mix open ended so you could just pick up from there instead of trying multiple things in one mix. Not sure if that makes sense. Good mix nonetheless.
This mix was wonderful to listen to, and I enjoyed it greatly. The melodic vibe you had the entire time was a treat and I've missed that in DNB. This could have definitely been an entry to the Science Fiction challenge with all the spaciness. Like others have mentioned, I didn't care for the last track at all, but hey, my DNB mix was difficult to finish too. Nice work either way. Looking forward to your next installment

Hmm. Aside from the last couple of tracks which stray into a more full-on strain of DB I don't personally think this mix progresses any more in terms of energy than any of the trancey-proggy mixes I've done. I also think with atmospheric it's pretty easy just to play a bunch of spacey low-energy tunes without much development. Still, you aren't the first person to say it escalated too quickly so there must be something in it.

Cheers Zip. I might have to take a break from drum 'n bass now, because the last three mixes in a row have all been heavily drum 'n bass oriented. But then, all three were very different which showcases the awesome versatility of this genre.

This genre never seems to bore me. Works about in every situation as a backround musi,c from hard core training and even for taking a nap! Since the mid or late 90's was it MTV Party Zone where I think I heard atmospheric d'n'b for the first time, maybe LTJ Bukem or Apollo 440s Vanishing Point or whatever - this simply works like a charm!

I found this set to be really expertly crafted with some nice subtle flow and some great tracks. Your DNB sets are always really high quality. I also feel like the last track was a bit out of place, the set still had a great flow but I think it would've worked better if it had've ended on the last track. The last track just seemed quite different rythmically and aesthetically plus it had vocals, was harder and is fairly attention grabbing. With that said, it's not really a major problem and I probably wouldn't have mentioned it if other people hadn't of.
The positioning of the last track reminded me a lot of a few techno sets I've heard where they have nice subtle dark flow throughout but end with an attention catchey trancey track at the end. It's ok sometimes but it doesn't hold up to repeated listening. It could also be that I'm not really a big fan of regular trance generally.

Personally I loved the second last track and felt like it was a nice change without going too far outside of the mood set by the previous tracks.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious I got it wrong with the last track, but I'm glad it didn't spoil the overall mix for you. I had a month or two where I couldn't listen to this mix because I was so disappointed at getting it wrong - it really had been a touch-and-go decision whether to go in that direction right at the end - but now I can play this again and recognise it's still good and not a write-off by any means.
