Isolation pads won't make any difference in that setup. The height, distance and angle are completely wrong. Your speakers should create an equilateral triangle to the listening position and the tweeters should be at or just above ear level. You have two options.
1. Buy a bigger desk, put your monitors on appropriate height desktop stands and put them back as far back as they can go. The desk must be at least 90cm deep and 120cm wide for this to work. Desks like that are hard to come by, in my experience.
2. Buy a desk that doesn't have crap connected to the back of it and put your speakers on stands at an appropriate height and distance.
In either case, have your speakers at least 20cm from the wall. 50cm or more is ideal, but for most of us that aint gonna happen.
Don't touch the EQ settings on your speakers. You'll probably just make things worse. You should, however, set the volume levels appropriately.
Amplifiers generally sound worse as they approach their low or high extremities. If your audio interface has analogue volume control, then you should set your speakers to a level where the audio interface amps and speaker amps are operating in their comfort zone. Assuming the controls somewhat align to reality, this is generally around half way on the potentiometers.
Digital gain reduction is achieved by lowering the bit depth of the signal. If your audio interface only has digital volume control, then you should set your speakers to a level where you minimise the amount of gain reduction done digitally. In other words, when you have your audio interface at full volume, the speakers should be set to the maximum level that you would realistically use. While doing this, you must also balance the amps as above. You will often find your speaker amps must be set very low (and thus sound bad) or the speakers will be too loud at full interface volume with a +4db line level. If you find yourself in that situation, reduce your line level to -10db.
