I think that the cats who get along almost a 100% of the time are ones from the same litter. Otherwise, you're taking your chances introducing a cat to your existing one. |
It's a bit too late for that, unfortunately. My kitten's mother is actually a stray cat, and we found the litter with 4 kittens in a classroom.
We tried to catch the mother, to no avail, because the handyman wanted to kill them all and we wanted to avoid a felicide. To be on the safe side, I adopted my cat and, on the following day, the mother rescued two other kittens. I could've adopted the remaining one, but a colleague promised she'd take care of her (in hindsight, I should've done it, because she forgot to take the kitten to the vet and the poor thing died the following morning).
Long story short, her litter is no more.

Get a dog. They actually can go out for a walk and can help keep your place safe. You can't walk a cat and if your place is broken into, there is high probability your cat will lead the robbers to where you hold your most valuable items. It's true. |
I live in a studio flat inside a gated community. If I get a dog, it's going to be a small one, hardly the kind of guard dog that would help me under these circumstances
