2000s kids who grew up with Darude, ATB, and System F will think thats what REAL trance is.
2010 kids who grew up with Dash Berlin, W&W, Gareth Emery, and Avicii will think thats what REAL trance is.
Apparently the best way to slay a unicorn is to bore it to death through rising half-step buildups, obnoxious snare drums on every beat, and buzzy supersaw melodies.
I can agree with that Saphyre, but to me trance has always been about delivering a feeling of salvation and not celebration like it is now. That's how I've been explaining it at least. Like church for the non-religious.

I am in the middle when it comes to trance.
I love the classic trance sound that isnt some stupid buildup to the same lame drop that is used with mainstream electro house music.
But I do love the harder trance (psytrance, 138+ BPM).
For me, if you brought back old school blank and jones, cosmic gate, rank 1, svenson & gielen, etc. I would be the happiest person out there.
And yes those names are considered cheesy back then, but I love that sound. Whereas I cant do a single cosmic gate track now. Progressive vocal snoozefest
