I feel the same way as some of ya'll do. I'm white but i mostly hang with the asian group because around here, they are really the only ones that listen to trance. Most people around the virginia area listen to rock or rap. A few years back i listened to rap more than trance but now its the other way around. I can't listen to a rap song repeatedly like a good trance song i can listen to forever it seems like. When i download something i do skip to the "good stuff" and then if i like it i'll listen to the whole thing. I think this is why some dj's make mixes is because they take out most of the intro and just mix the melody or meaty part of the song (watever you want to call it). I wish more people in my area listened to trance bc i hate it when people put it down and say it sounds gay or watever. They just don't know!

if the song is produced/mixed by a quality producer/mixer
(ie, mirco de govia, lange, l-vee, minimalistix)
then i give the song my full attention and listen to the whole thing

but if it's by somebody i don't know, then i only listen to the first minute and tune off

i have missed some quality tunes this way, only to have 'rediscovered' the songs on my hd months later
ie, Tillmann Urchmacher - On the Run (ocean 2 shore remix) -> how the fuck did i miss this one?
James Holden - Nothing (boring intro)
William Orbit - Adagio 4 Strings (strings dont' play until 3 min mark

anyways, i have no attention span when it comes to someone introducing me to a new song. but when its trance, the intro beats has to appeal to me before i listen. but sometimes intro doesnt mean the song would be nice.. like picotto's - pulsar.. that intro with the spelling is sick, but the rest i dont really like.

of course..dont tell me you thought i was miss_e as in miss_ecstacy or smth so ridiculous....

well when im mixing in my room i have that problem. except i skip the buildups. I'll start a track, get teh next track up. beat match, then skip to the end of the song and mix, then get the next song beatmatch, move to the end of the song, mix in the new song etc.
