Which version of Maschine software did you guys get? v1 or v2? I'm pretty sure that Studio comes with v2 (?), but I believe that Mikro still includes v1, with the option to upgrade.
I'm just asking because there are some substantial differences in the way the Maschine software works in each version. I started with v1 years ago, and bought the v2 upgrade when it was released. I still use both versions, but I have almost no experience using third-party soft synth plugins in v2. I rarely (never?) use Maschine as a standalone DAW - it's always used as a plugin in my host DAW, so I use my soft synths as plugins in my host DAW, not in Maschine. However, I do use effects plugins in Maschine on occasion.

Very much doubt it. The Mikro mk2 came with v1 software and the v2 software was a paid upgrade. Unless the previous owner bought the v2 upgrade and transfers that to you, you've probably got v1. Gotta say, though, that although v2 has some really cool features, I prefer the v1 workflow most of the time. But, that's probably also because I've been using it for years and I'm having a hard time adjusting to v2's DAW-like features, many of which don't even interest me since I don't use it that way.

Thats something, what if i bought maschine mikro today new would it still just come with V1 software? The owner hasn't registered yet so i'll do that as soon as it gets here. One thing I'm aware is that V1 can still host au vst plugins correct? That feature was added in 1.7 update if i read correctly.

Yes, AU support was added in v1.6 or 1.7, so you'll have that functionality for sure.
And, apparently Mikro comes with v2 software now, so maybe you'll get it after all.

Gotta say I'm impressed, props to Dave for being teh first maschine user here, Workflow is incredible and i love the way it sounds with logic. I don't like it as stand alone daw tho.

nice, the 2.0 software is 99 bucks alone i think, score.
got mine. not unboxed it yet. weekend has landed, will get to it next week... or drunkenly set up it and tits it up
everyone says it isn't supposed to be a standalone DAW, pretty simple to plug it into one though supposedly. i think they left out those features for a reason, as they knew well everyone was asking for them...

Maschine absolutely worth the $$$
Hey to answer the original post (like so many before me), MASCHINE MK2 is absolutely worth the money.... I would have bought the studio but it came out just after I bought the MK2. The synths are insane (Specifically Massive).
I will say this, I recently bought Omnisphere and the two together can work seamlessly, either using it inside Maschine 2.0 or using both as plugins in Logic 9 or Mainstage, though now I want more ram...
