another thing I have noticed in the difference between the actual EQ ranges is that, the bass on the vestax effects the song a lot more than on the DJMs, ie. the frequency is wider.

so, when you turn down the bass, you take a lot out of the song. likewise, when you turn up the bass it gets a lot louder.

it's not that bad, but it's noticeable.
also, it's not painted, don't worry about chipping.
and it has pans on each channel, something the DJM does not have.
plus kill switches for each EQ, on channels 1 and 3, DJM also doesn't have that.

and most importantly, note, the PCV 275 is way better than the 175, for one key reason, on the 175 you can't hear the EQ changes in the headphones.

the pots being close 2gether annoy the shit outta me. vestax mid eq sucks arse, and u have pan effects on the DJM which counteracts the individual channel function. and it does suck are not hearin the eq on the 175, but u get used 2 it and it has made me learn my tunes inside out which is a good and bad thing. i still say go pioneer

it would seem all poorly designed EQ's have this problem -- they Q of the circuit is just poor... not narrow and centered enough.

If you got money u should buy the allan & heath xone 62 best sound quality. Pioneer is good but i dont really like the fact that it has a beat counter and shitty effects processor on the djm 600 or the 500. The vestax pcv275 is a really good mixer for the money, good sound, easy to use and great for beginers.

yea i hate those canned effects too.. ugh. every dang party i go to some noob is overusing the flanger and autopan :P

the 62 is a great mixer.. the VCFs are handy too.. very handy for transitions. i honestly prefer the 32 though... smaller size, easier to transport, less cluttered.

the xone62 was about $900 last time i got a quote on it a few months ago from www.performanceaudio.com .. most places sell them for more, $1100 or so, but perf audio moves alot of a&h stuff and they are really close to the a&h distributer so they have some phat deals..

the 62 was not meant for scratching.. it's a "mixologists mixer" as was said once on another forum, and is an appropriate description.
there is a mod available from a&h support to make the curve sharper, but it's still not a scratch mixer.

about $1800us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =[ not happy looks like a pioneer for me dang i didnt want that stupid effects panel crapola!!!!!!!!

unless... are all allen and heath xone62`s the same around the world they just package them with different power adaptors??? or for certain power supplys they have to change some of the inards???? cause ive being told if i wanna take my technics back to australia i have to buy some really expensive convertors... which basically make it uneconomical!!! ive being told i hjave to do this because japan has really weird power supply!!!! would it be the same for the allena nd heath mixer or what???

cause if not i could just order of a site over seas!!! would be alot cheaper right???

The effects on the DJM 600 are great....if you know how to use them, plus they added the filter, trans and sampler, and its got 3 fader curve selections. So if you know how to use the effects in conjuction with the EQ on each channel you can do some really crazy shit.

If I had to choose between the Xone 62 or the DJM 500, I'd go with the Xone 62
but between the Xone 62 and DJM 600, its all a matter a preference both mixers are top of the line.
