If you're the product of a 20-something mother, you're just further proof to me that having your kids later in life is a good idea.
My sister had her first one at 35, her third one at 38, and my mom had me at age 40. Honestly I'm pretty happy I was born to relatively old parents; stable home, with stable income, and a peaceful childhood in general. Now I have two almost 70-year olds to talk to when I go visit home 
I just don't see the point of having a kid for the sake of passing on your genes anymore. Cliched as it may sound, I'll provide my offspring a stable and safe childhood or none at all. Also - of course - I'm scared of having children.
Edit: and this is of course not to say that a young couple couldn't raise a child.
