Holy shit!! well done! assuming I finalise my student debt in july 2015, that would’ve been 14 years to pay off ~15K (plus interest of course)

All that interest you could have kept in your pocket, damn. Only 2.5 years for me. I figured since I was already used to living on my student income I could sacrifice a few more years of a tight budget. I hate the thought of giving the bank an extra 18-20 k in interest alone. Fuckers.

However, if I do pursue something outside of my field, I will likely have a much more keen interest in the whole school process again.

Think if I was you with your skillset, I'd look at a management and leadership course or two.
Nursing will always be around and in some kind of demand, however; just when I used to hang out with my mum who was in a medical field, you'd get nursing staff come in an assume positions of seniority and leadership roles on the basis that if you hang around long enough, then you'll get promoted.
But that doesn't mean they know a damn about actually A) doing the job or B) actually doing the job well, specifically when it comes to having staff and motivating them to work.

So, in your case I think if you wanted to aim higher, but not put yourself through the nightmare of 'more' medical education + full time work, then you could look at the upper roles in the medical profession itself (which you know better than I do!) and then look at how you could fit yourself into those based on a mix of your field experience in the hospital and what the roles themselves entail. Plus if at some point you just get fed up with the whole thing, you can use something like management and leadership courses to hop across to a completely different field that could be in retail, service industries or something else like that.

I actually hate management AND leadership. I could never see myself in that kind of role, nor do I ever want the responsibility.

A masters in nursing takes you only a handful of places. Either you become a nurse practitioner (do not want), a clinical specialist (also not want), or some kind of higher up, like management (def do not want). The thing about management here, too, is they aren't in a union. I love my union and the security that comes with it, hah.

I'm thinking like RIGHT out of nursing/medical altogether, but perhaps still in healthcare. Like health policy or something. Social policy also interests me. I have only recently become more interested in politics, but that's something too.

I want to gain a deeper understanding of the world. I guess I don't have to go to school to do that, but I would like to be able to put to action whatever it is I learn.

I am not averse to pursuing an MBA at all, in fact.

And yeah, I hope that works out for you...best feeling just getting it over with. I think it will probably be more satisfying than finishing school even, haha.

School is for suckers. Just hustle. Last week i broke into a construction site and stole 5 grand worth of plywood. Couldn't find a buyer so i made a bunch of bird houses and sold them at a discount price through bed bath store. Hustling everyday.

Just robbed a truck full of yarn and knitting turtle neck sweaters to sell in china town straight og
