Subconsciously, people may not be attracted to the word Trance in this day and age. Are potential customers going to register because trance is currently the hottest thing going and if they do, are they going to post incessantly about how great trance currently is? Just a rhetorical question. Hell, I registered on TA because I was salivating over trance. That could be said for thousands of other members of the past. as great as trance was in electronic music, this board could be rejuvenated with a new brand and identity.
I registered EDMaddict back in 2001 - the reasoning being that I wanted a music forum where Trance/House/Techno fans could all congregate and the name 'trance'addict makes it seem like it is *only* for those that like Trance. The difficulty with the term EDM these days is that its definition has been polluted to mean the commercial housey sound associated with festival main stages and the majority who are drawn to it (dance music newbies).

Honestly, I'm glad no one voted for the first option. I kind of fucked up the wording on that one. To say that the site needs to change by adapting to this crappy EDM era doesn't sound like a convincing statement. Back in 2001, EDMaddict would've been cool but it's easy to say that in hindsight. Tranceaddict obviously paid off dividends and it was certainly the right choice regardless of hindsight.
