I love it for DNB cause it's so awkward and seems "faster" than 170-180

I don't have a go-to BPM, but I like to go with non-integer values, like 124.371, then I slowly increase it by a half-BPM or so just to throw the DJs off......not that any DJs would play my music, but it's fun to think that I could singlehandedly be destroying some kid's dreams of being the next Tiesto.

128. It's the standard for a reason, not too fast, not too slow.

Usually 75-80. Then sometimes 120-130. Sometimes 105, but not a week goes by when I don't go around 160, then sometimes it's around 140. Most of the time I think it's 95 though. Sometimes I go 2048, but that's only when I need octuple resolution. I use multiple birth floating point divisions for sequencing, and a RESTful backend for my samples, so it's all about going concurrent on my requests baby. Timers all the way. Can't cache that shit either, since that's one of the hard things. But, to be honest, I usually just go for tempo.

For mixing, I always used to go with 138 or 140, but lately I've been getting really old school with it and am starting to prefer 160
For producing, nearly all of my tracks are 137-140.

Amen. Can pitched up to make it slot with faster prog/slower schranz or down to get all deep house.

It's actually bio-spiritually the correct BPM. This is the divine point at which the heart rate of an average good health person aligns with the BPM. In other words, dancing to 128 BPM is the same figure of your heart rate when dancing at a sustainable level of aerobic exercise for a few hours.

Came from judge jules. Must be true

(but actually, it kinda is scientifically correct).
