no. i always listen to music when i'm online. it's ok if you can choose to have bg-music or not, as long as it's off as default.

being considerate to your visitors is one of the most important things about web design. both visually and audio-wise. having a loud sfx that play everytime you roll over a link for example is a no no.

every music track that i've placed into a website has been strictly ambient. background/environment tracks if you will. that way, the user still has something to listen to while they browse the site without it getting annoying and at the same time doesn't interfere with any mp3s or other audio tracks that may be playing outside of their browser.
