We used to have the VIVA music channel in Morocco, I'm sure the European TAs know about it. It was the equivalent of MTV when MTV was still about music.
I think it was Scooter who first got me into EDM.

OMFG, Viva was amazing. I used to watch it in Switzerland (still going I think) and then one very messy weekend in Amsterdam, we got super wasted and watched Viva and MTV all night - MTV europe used to be amazing. ON a Saturday night, past about 2am they would just play continuous dance music mixes with endless visuals.
Viva was always so much better than MTV.
P.s. You lot are all cheesemongers if Aqua and Vengaboys got you in to EDM

Yep, VIVA was the tits. It put all the other music channels to shame. I even picked up some German just from watching it haha.
It's still going strong according to Wiki.

At that time it was the easiest way I guess, actually it already was long before. The oldest track I can remember seeing at t.v. was this one at the beginning of 1985. It does surprise me as I wouldn't have thought I was only 10 years old.

AQUA has always had a haunting euro-mystique to them which eclipses the 'cheesiness'.

Sadly they switched to the same reality-TV garbage as MTV in the early 2000s. They got bought out by Viacom and just send a bunch of MTV-show reruns now.
