I'm sick and tired of the, are you really getting that? you just do electronic music the focals are enough bs i always hear or the las tthing you need is monitors, for crying out loud who gives a crap.
Raphie has 10k speaker cable I don't see Rann asking him if he really needs that which is like wow.
Calm broseph.
I'm making the points:
1, Going from Focals to PMC twenty.22's is entering the dark depths of diminishing returns. You'll lose $1000 all said and done for a truly minimal upgrade in sound quality.
2, You're not using them in a properly treated rooms which means that any potential upgrade is even smaller in benefit, if realized at all.
3, You make EDM in a spare room.
4, You'd make a much better investment spending that $1000 getting 20 piano/music theory/Arrangement/Orchestration/etc lessons.
JJ (Raphie) is doing mastering. It requires the best possible equipment. He's in a fully treated room and therefore can take advantage of the benefits of expensive kit. His clients also need to see fancy gear so they know he's the real deal (this is actually a big reason studios spend big money - not always because it's the best, but because it makes clients shit themselves (see the Future Music video with SHM for more details). I could go on but I think you get the point.
