if u replace pharmacist who will hand you pills ?i don't think we can teach computer how to do this. there needs to be someone who can work behind the desk and not take advantage of all the drugs more so than just telling you side effects

the only issue is ifd you get robots then it will become more centralized and thats not good. i dont want the mark of the beast...

There are always gaps in medical decision making that need to be filled in with 'clinical judgement,' something pharmacists are expected and trained to be informed with, and something Google searching often can't give you.

Not all pharmacists work retail. 10-13 Years in school and residency is no joke.

"My happy pills took 5 hours to appear rather than the 30 minutes I was promised, so rather than consider that perhaps some unanticipated problem occurred behind the scenes that the staff had to rectify, I'll immediately assume that the person behind the counter is just grossly incompetent and then question their salary."

It's a good thing you can't spit in klonopin.

Do you know what klonopin is? "Happy pills" aren't exactly an accurate description, as they have nothing to do whatsoever with depression.

Yes, it works nicely for comedowns. What the pills do isn't really relevant though, unless you were prescribed medication to increase empathy levels.

Well I wasn't saying pharmacists are incompetent, I was saying I don't believe their job is necessary in many cases. A computer system would hold more information about adverse effects, interactions, etc. than a person could, and could process, sort, and bottle them in much less time. The system could also be integrated with peoples full medical records to cross check for allergies and things like that which a person wouldn't be aware of.

I've not used a pharmacist very often, but usually you don't have to wait long for your medication, right? My point is that your abnormally long wait was probably due to an isolated problem of the kind that inevitably happens behind the scenes in any business or organisation from time to time. To immediately suggest that a whole profession is overpaid and could be replaced by robots is pretty cold.
