I would of freaked out 4 years ago. But now, its actually not so bad. Fresh starts are great, and therapeutic. What is some shitty stored 010101's compared to your consciousness; its nothing. |
This. I had a hard drive die due to physical damage when I cleaned my PC, there were my first two years of production on it, all projects, all samples and plugs, gone. I freaked out a lot, but really it was the best thing that could happen to me. I started out fresh, gathered dramatically less bullshit then before and started again far more focused than before.
This year I managed to fix the HDD thanks to a friend, I booted the old system on and everything was there. It was almost shocking how unorganized, random and filled with bullshit and useless crap it all was. I really grew thanks to that HDD fail.
Now I'm ready to ditch another system, I am building a new one. I will transport what I considered essential for work, and of course will continue to use my workhorse plugs, but other than that it will be a fresh start again, to let me breathe again and not to mention the really needed performance boost.
