I don't really want to get into the speculation game (because I'm usually wrong), but it really does smell of buyout to me. I could see NI, for example, wanting in on Camel's success and, if Alchemy 2 is as awesome as all indications seemed, why wouldn't a bigger company want that in their product line? Maybe that's just wishful thinking, though. As a Camel Audio customer, it sucks to see them go, but if Ben and the boys made a pile of cash and Alchemy 2 will still see the light of day, that's probably the best outcome I could hope for at this point.

Yep, that would be a best case scenario indeed. Maybe NI is interested in Alchemy 2 as a successor to Absynth in their flagship product line? They have been slacking when it comes to synthesis lately...

This would be a win win scenario for all of us (who use Alchemy or NI product) -> as an existing Alchemy or NI user we would still have some form of discount for upgrade to ver2
